I'm dying to use this line on a smug fertile: "I know exactly what you mean - my FS only has to look at me and I superovulate!"

Of course, it would only be funny with you there to appreciate my sarcasm.

I arrived at the clinic this morning at more or less the crack of dawn. "You're bright and early," said the nurse. "Anxious to see what's going on?"

"Well, that, plus the dog had diarrhoea all over my bed at 4am, so I was kind of up."

Things are going well*. My cysts have gone, which might have been where the twinges were coming from, because otherwise it's all progressing slowly and steadily. I have "a number**" of follicles on each ovary, just hovering around 10mm, so a way to go yet. FS still can't recall stimming anyone on 75 units of FSH for IVF before, but he hasn't finished racking his memory.

Next appointment is Monday.

*Dogshit notwithstanding.

**FS uses the following counting system: one, two, a number, lots.

--
**Update**
And now the dog is back in the ICU. From fine last night to diarrhoea at 4am to blood transfusions and central venous catheters by mid-morning. Crash, bang. I feel like I should be panicking about it, but I seem to be emotionally flatlined and can't get myself above "worried". Longer-term readers may remember her penchant for the ICU from such dramas as the last cycle. If anyone can give me a thorough, detailed and rational talk on how not to see this as an omen, by all means go ahead.

I've stimmed on 75 with 50's at the end, so you're not alone.

I'm an over-stimmer, too. Better than understimmer, though, is what I always say.

Hope all continues to go well!!

You know, I wonder if he's just trying to make me feel special sometimes? I was pretty sure I wasn't actually *unique*! But always nice to hear stories of people in the same boat!

Sounds good so far Bea, so happy to hear there's no overstimming going on. I did 75 for iui and still only got one follie each time. "A Number" sounds grand...

I was a low doser too, which was good since it's cheaper* if you're out of pocket.

*relatively speaking.

Ewww . . . poor doggie, every poorer you! What a way to wake up.

So... is dog shit, like bird shit, considered lucky?

Perhaps its his way of... contributing?

I understand using very little FSH. While I don't always do 75 units....more days than not I use that or 37.5. I guess we can be blessed that we get off of this end cheap right....good luck to you.l

Glad to hear that all is going well.

Sorry to hear about your dog. Hope that everything is okay.

I've also stimmed on 75 and decreased the dose from there. Got 14 eggs out of it. Come to think of it, that was the only cycle I had with only moderate OHSS (just a bit of pain and bloating, but no hospital stay), so I think 75 is a fine number!

I hope your poor pup will be okay.

It isn't an omen. It is just really shitty timing.

The sick pup is not an omen. Unfortunate, yes. Poor dog.

I wish my ovaries were as efficient as yours. My starting dose of FSH with my next cycle is going to be 475 units.

It's correlation not causation ;-)

I hope your puppy feels better soon. I have been in your shoes with an ill four-footed member of the family. It's hard, and you have enough hard things at this point in time.

Hope the dog is feeling better soon.

I reckon, that given what my RE is hinting about how terrified she is that I'll hyperstimulate, I might join you on that dose. :)

I'm so sorry about your dog.

I hope your puppy gets better very soon.

I love your line. I could suggest a few places to use it. For that matter, I could have borrowed it today.

Take Care Bea. I hope Monday brings good new.

Oh Bea,

I am so sorry to hear about this turn with your dog. No one needs this kind of stress or omen or worry. Poor Pooch.

Thinking of you,

Slow and steady is a very good way to go, as annoying as it is.

I stimmed at 100ius and double the L.upron - does that count?

And I agree with Heather. Your poor dog being sick isn't an omen. Just crap timing. Hugs to you - hope he gets better soon.

I hope puppy gets better soon, poor thing really has had a rough ride. Maybe it is just going out in sympathy knowing you are on a rough ride....maybe. Stop reading into it , it's not an omen.

love, love, love your line. Wish I could be a fly on the wall when you use it!!! I am glad to hear things are moving, but not too quickly. Isn't there something about a tortoise and steady and slow wins the race???:)

And I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. And no, I don't believe it is an omen.
