Infertile Fantasies... daydreams about the nightmare of infertility. That's where this blog started, and here's the journey in summary:
  • 04/05 - first tests on me - bloods and ultrasounds normal
  • 08/05 - first SA indicates MF
  • 09/05 - second SA confirms MF
  • - GP suggests naturopath
  • 10/05 - first FS consult
  • 11/05 - AIH #1
  • 12/05 - AIH #2 - FS recommends IVF/ICSI
  • 01-02/06 - IVF/ISCI #1, (long down-reg/ET cancelled OHSS)
  • 03/06 - rest cycle
  • 04-05/06 - FET#1 (natural, Pessaries, Preg.nyl) - low positive beta
  • 06-07/06 - FET#2 (natural, Pessaries, Preg.nyl) - no pregnancy
  • 07-08/06 - FET#3 (OI with FSH/Pessaries, Preg.nyl) - low positive beta
  • 09/06 - FET#4 (OI with FSH/Pessaries, Preg.nyl) - low positive beta
  • 10/06 - lap/hyst/dye - no problems detected
  • 11/06-02/07 - on a break
  • 02-04/07 - FET#5 (OI with FSH/Crin.one) - low positive beta, slow-growing gestational sac, D&C at 9wks - "Jester" - our boy
  • 04-05/07 - recovery cycle, D&C results, third opinion
  • 06/07 - recurrent miscarriage workup with MD
  • 07-10/07 - IVF/ICSI#2 (long down-reg/crinone, clexane) - normal positive beta, slow doubling time, 2 sacs, one heartbeat - no, two - no, sorry, one - and...??
  • 10/07 - we enter the second trimester with a singleton
  • 12/07 - our Big Scan shows a normal-looking boy
  • 02/08 - we enter the third trimester
  • 05/08 - we welcome BayBea aka The Prata Baby aka Prata Boy - a healthy boy
  • 06/10 - we return to FS to discuss trying for another. Plans are made.
  • 07/10 - several months after my last period, before we have implemented said plans, a home pregnancy test comes up positive. An ultrasound scan reveals a single, intrauterine pregnancy progressing normally for about 10 weeks. Holy crap!
  • 08/10 - we enter the second trimester
  • 09/10 - our Big Scan shows a normal-looking baby of sex unknown
  • 11/10 - we enter the third trimester
  • 02/11 - we welcome Surprise Baby - a healthy girl
  • 03/15 - we discuss our remaining frozen embryos and decide on an open donation to friends
  • 12/15 - two-day-old embryos are grown out to blasts and the healthiest is transferred to our recipients - clinical pregnancy
  • 1/16 - we receive news that our recipients have lost the pregnancy in an emergency surgery as it was ectopic
  • 10/16 - next embryo transfer, no pregnancy
  • 10/18 - final embryo transfer, failed to thaw

Totals: 50 eggs retrieved, 35 ICSI'd, 27 fertilised, 10 transferred to me, 6 "positives", 2 clinical pregnancies (one IVF, one surprise), 2 live, take-home babies, three transfers to known embryo donor recipients, one ectopic pregnancy, no live births.
