I know I've mentioned a few times that my symptoms are pretty weak - sometimes I have to stick my toothbrush a long way down my throat to bring on any morning sickness - but I've got one more to add to the list this week: tiredness.

I was quite concerned about my lack of tiredness, because it seems such a very common pregnancy symptom, but a revelation struck me as I awoke from my afternoon nap the other day and I excitedly started to share it with Mr Bea. "I think I've worked out why I'm not feeling tired!" I announced.

"Is it because you've been sleeping so much?" he replied.

"You knew," I said, crestfallen. "Why didn't you tell me?" He had the hide to answer by shaking his head in disbelief.

So yes, I have not been tired, but I have been sleeping more - a full night's sleep and an afternoon nap, which is great on the symptoms front and I love having the luxury - but the downside is it's not exactly getting my coursework done. And I have 80% of my assessment due in October. As well as a film festival. All of which is a very long-winded way of getting around to my point, which is that I've decided to delay the third IIFF by a week, until the 3rd of November which is a little late for Halloween, but not too much so never mind.

So! The third season of IIFF and the last for 2007 will still be Halloween, but the new date is the 3rd of November. Can't wait to see your entries, and I will be running the prizes again - audience choice, lucky dip, and the grand jury prize. So go! Go!

Sleeping is the perfect cure for tiredness ;)

Yay for extending the IIFF festival I haven't started thinking about it yet.

Forgive me if you don't want to hear anecdotes, but if memory serves, I had no symptoms to speak of. I went to bed an hour early in the first few weeks, and after that I had some ligament pains (I think).
Nausea, never.

Of course, having some classic symptoms might alleviate the worry a bit, though I hear that their waxing and waning can cause stress too.

Exiting times, no matter what!

I had no symptoms of note, and MAN it freaked me right out at the time.

If you reach your sigmoid colon FROM YOUR MOUTH with that toothbrush, I'd give up on trying to vomit :)

As long as the next scan(s) show things are going well, you don't need symptoms. Really, nausea is so overrated. Wishing for nothing but a great outcome from this for you, Bea.

I never felt very tired during the day, but I did sleep more like you. I was in bad by 8 pm . As for mornign sickness, it hit me at 6 weeks, but nw at 9 weeks it went way (of course I am worried!) Hope that everything keeps progressing well

Several people have told me that lack of symptoms = healthy baby boy. Here's hoping.

Ah! The beauty of the nap. One of my favorite diversions. Recommend them regularly ;-) ... as they'll become a thing of the past very soon!

Not being able to get on the net for a while, I'm over the moon to come back and see your great news Bea. I know we're not supposed to be getting you too excited yet but I can't help it... Congrats on the two heartbeats!

I can't believe we're on the third season of IIFF already! Seemed like it just started with an idea. Looking forward to it.

Sukkot is starting now, meaning no internet for me for the next 25 hours - I wanted to wish you a lot of luck with tomorrow's scan. I'll be thinking about you!!!

Sleeping does cure tiredness.

You may also be getting far enough along that your body doesn't need as much rest as it did at first. That kind of scared me when it happened to me.

BTW, I'm 29 weeks and still have trouble with brushing my teeth. I even called my dentist to find out what would happen if I just used mouth wash until I delivered. He chuckled and told me I still had to brush.

so that's why you've managed to avoid the exhaustion! ;)
i keep doing the same thing. insisting that i don't feel anything or any different but simultaneously noticing all sorts of different things.
here's to more (mild!) symptom discoveries!
